Nick Naster is one of the most talented and best trained Special Agents of the Interplanetary Federation. Additionally he is strategic advisor of the Special Forces. His family has been killed by the outbreak of the alien plague of Zeta 2. He volunteered immediately for the eXtinction mission. We do not expect a diminished responsibility because of his familary losses. Instead our psychologists expect him to work and fight even more distinctively for our purpose.

"Commander Naster.

First of all we would like to express our condolence with regards to your familary losses because of the massive infiltration of your class-5 home system Zeta 2 by alien forces. All of us have to experience losses in these days. The ancient ruins scattered across the planetary system of Zeta are no mere monuments of a forgotten civilization. Unfortunately we triggered with our examinations some kind of a time lock. Six inhabitants of the system have been assimilated to class-3 symbiotic organisms. They are half-human, half-machine and we suspect them to be the hosts of an unknown biological virus transforming its victims into hostile alien minions.

Nick, we have chosen you for this mission because of your flawless record as Special Agent and your experience as interplanetary space pilot. You must stop this plague. We have provided you with an experimental antidote against the plague. It has been completed only minutes before the destruction of our Zeta 2 headquarters. It will protect you for the time of your mission against any infection with the biological virus, but it is only an unfinished prototype with time-limited effect. Your mission is to recover data units and further unfinished probes of the antidote in order to give us the opportunity to finish the antidote. This is our top priority because any kind of reinforcement in our fight against the alien infestation and invasion is impossible without a potent antidote. All our troops have been infected and assimilated!

Furthermore the six mentioned class-3 symbiotic organisms carry energy artifacts required for the invasion to be completed. You must find a way to destroy those artifacts before they have been fully charged. Our analysis shows that the ancient ruins are meant to establish some kind of a bridge between different dimensions as soon as the energy artifacts are fully charged. We fear that an alien invasion force will enter our dimension from a previously uncharted part of the universe. This must be prevented at any cost. Our military force would be completely defenceless against such an assault and our human civilization would cease to exist. You have to prevent a global eXtinction of all known worlds!

Your backpack has been supplied with a fusion power generator. Use it wisely because the same power will be used for your afterburner, that allows you a time limited flying ability, your smart bomb and as a backup power for your basic energy weapon (refer to weapons section). Your fusion generator will rebuild the power to maximum level gradually. Collect power cells to increase immediately the available power. Use any weapons you may find for your purpose. Do not forget that you will mainly meet our own troops, but remember that they are no more human. The virus has totally transformed them. They will do everything to plain and simply kill you. You have to save your own life and in the same time this mission to save mankind.
